i have a deep love for art in all of it's form and just about all things "nerd". i possess a vast collection of graphic tees, funko pops, disney memorabilia, and lego. i am a pet parent to two cats, Salem and Cleo, who have been photographed by me ad nauseam to the point i have so little phone storage. usually my free time is spent binging streaming shows, completing my newest hobby, and being cuddled by said cats.
i was born and raised in fayetteville, nc with an army medic as a dad and an elementary school teacher as a mom. throughout my childhood i had many hobbies and interests, but i always had a love for art and a fascination with the power of imagination. my mom fostered my love for travel and history through several trips to other countries. while my dad fostered a passion for empathy and understanding others struggles as he struggled with ptsd and other health problems. it was with this background and a love for all things "nerdy" that led me to pursue industrial design.
i have always loved the art of creation and imagination. even as a kid i was designing things. so it was natural for me to pursue a career in a field that would let me hone that love. i graduated from appalachian state university with a bachelor degree in industrial product design and a minor in graphic communications. it was here at app state that i really was able to focus on what parts of design i was passionate about. through my university projects, i was able to find that empathy was the core tenet of my design philosophy and even got to explore ethics in design.
i am currently the creative design and support tech at new river manufacturing in jefferson, nc. here i work on promotional materials, the design and maintenance of our websites, and designing several park-model tiny homes. two of these tiny homes are actually mine which was a complete joy to design and work through the construction process! while i'm not working, i am focused on fostering my numerous interests and creating things that bring joy to myself or to others.
