while the speed-train or fast cars may be popular for travel along the districts of pankasu, this coiled pokémon, native to the sixth district, has become quite the favorite way to travel in the district. norubers use their long coiled tail to spring themselves forward and use their smooth underbellies to glide across the ground. even in the wild, noruber can be seen giving rides to smaller pokémon, some even using the force of their tail to help teach some pokémon to fly. noruber was originally a failed mutation by the capitol, much like the jabber jays, the original creature did not serve its purpose and instead bred with other snake pokémon and eventually evolved into noruber. to hide this mistake, the capitol, created the sport of noruber racing. this has led many noruber to become extremely competitive and will often push themselves farther than they should, so trainers should keep a close eye on them.
another popular pokémon design in a lot of regions is the mountable pokemon that offers a fun way of travel. since district 6 is known for its advancements in transportation technology, using this idea fit perfectly. district 6 is mostly made up of wisconsin and michigan, as well as some parts of ohio. a common reptile found in this area, and the state reptile of ohio, is the black racer. the name alone was perfect. for the colorations, i wanted to just have brighter colors like those you see in sports cars and a rubber-like coloration on the underbelly. additionally, it has the "head fins" and face stripe to further drive home the sports car motifs. the shiny variant of noruber's colors flip the original colors and also are more reminiscent of the original black racer.
